A Sleeping Giant...

It was cold, cold as hell.
Wind was blowing hard, and the ocean had a fearsome swell.
Something was wrong, a troubled time ahead?
Was it just a tide, or a disaster on wait?

It was a winter morning, everybody were indoors.
The harbour town was bit too clam, yet to set its course.
A sleeping giant after a long slumber, has somehow come awake,
Its constant roar and chilly breath, made the dwellers shake.

Minutes passed, not much changed,
Except for the ocean, it looked even more enraged.
Suddenly a shudder, soon everything was drenched,
The sea engulfed the land, the monster had the land claimed.

A Tidal wave? This much strong?
Or a rough weather, was the forecast wrong?
Whatever the cause may be, nobody cared.
Danger was on the loom, people were scared.

The news at last came, it was a cyclone.
Powerful enough, to blow a palatial home.
There was water, water everywhere.
The ocean still gave, a threatening stare.

Pandemonium struck, relief was on the way.
The fear indulged, was too hard to sway.
The storm was at last over, the skies got cleared.
But the coastal lands, were forever smeared...
